about
Hi, I’m Gabrielle and I guess I am first of all a storyteller, and then a florist. I love that everybody has a story and that flowers can help people to share them.
Language and stories have always been a big part of my world. I grew up in a big family who revel in telling stories of childhood mishaps and adventures. My Dad is a renown storyteller in the family, particularly known for his ability to recap the same story a number of times, we love him for it!
I have lived in the Northern Territory for many years and am enchanted by the stories of the people and places of the Top End. There is something special about the sound of the geckos, the wet season rains, the stunning Kakadu escarpment and the mango juice at the Mindil Markets. I moved to Newcastle for a short time and the creative community there inspired me to pursue a dream of telling stories through flowers. However, the Territory called me home again.
I love that stories can be shared in so many different ways through song, dance, art, talkback radio, around a campfire or in a modern day podcast! I’m hoping that flowers will give you another way to share your story.
If you’d like to chat some more, feel free to drop me a line or give me a call. We can make a time to meet over coffee, or chat over the phone, whatever suits you best.
Cheers, Gabrielle
P.S. There are some people I would like to send my heartfelt thanks to.
I acknowledge the Larrakia people who are the traditional custodians of the land on which I live and work; the land that provides nature's gift of flowers. I would also like to pay my respects to Elders past and present, and acknowledge their deep connection to this land and its stories.
